Our Mission
Carmichael Kids Child Care and Early Learning Centre is an independent Christian Early Learning Centre, committed to providing lifelong Christ centred education and care to children and families. We endeavour to advocate for children’s holistic needs through embedding Christian faith, collaborative partnerships with community and recognise that the rights and best interests of the individual child underpin all practices.
Our Philosophy
At Carmichael Kids Child Care and Early Learning Centre we believe that learning is a holistic journey. Our Christ centred approach to teaching encompasses the values of love, kindness, patience, dependability and trust, which is modeled by loving families, consistent educators and members of the Carmichael community. We provide opportunities to scaffold children’s learning in a safe, secure and supportive Christian environment. We acknowledge God, our Creator, and pay our respects to the Gubbi Gubbi peoples, and continue to pray for the elders present and emerging.

Each child is at the center of all that we do. Throughout our supportive Christian environment, we strive to meet the needs of each child, recognising that each child brings their own individual abilities, culture and ways of being. We believe all children deserve the opportunity to have an active role in their learning and development while supporting children to build on their existing knowledge. Each child has the right to be recognised and respected as an individual, with the strong belief that they are a unique and special gift from God.
Families and Community
We seek to be a culturally safe and inclusive environment for all, valuing families as children’s first and foremost teachers. As a service, we endeavour to support families by establishing strong relationships and working in partnership to provide continuity between the home and early childhood care environment. We believe that our education and care service is here to support the community in which we dwell. Carmichael Kids Child Care and Early Learning Centre works in collaboration with Carmichael College and Creekside Community Church. Through this partnership, we strive to strengthen our community bonds and provide pastoral care to children, families and staff for the wellbeing of all stakeholders.
Educators and Leadership
Our service understands the importance of early childhood education and recognises the value that dedicated early childhood professionals bring to the sector. Each Educator has the opportunity to bring their own unique strengths to the service and work collaboratively with leadership to support them in their continual growth as ongoing learners. All Educators uphold the Christian ethos of the service through respectful engagements with one another. Educators work collaboratively, are committed to reflective practice for continual improvement and work alongside children, families and communities to plan for and prioritise children’s holistic learning and wellbeing.
Educational Program and Practice
With the belief that children are rich in potential, curiosity and creativity, educators work alongside children as partners, nurturers and guides. Carmichael Kids Child Care and Early Learning Centre supports childrens’ innate dispositions for learning and exploration through facilitating a play-based learning environment. Educators draw on the knowledge of our underpinning framework and Christian beliefs to build on children’s interests, knowledge and understandings of the world in which they live. Children are encouraged to care for God’s creation as we endeavour to build on our sustainable practices and take inspiration from our Elders present and emerging.
